The retreat is at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson, Missouri.
SCHEDULE
Monday
Tuesday - Thursday
- 7-9am -- Breakfast buffet at the Chateau (includes assorted pastries and muffins, scrambled eggs with cheese, seasoned breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions, pork sausage links, french toast or pancakes, and fresh fruit)
- 9am-12pm -- Morning sessions (prayer, table talk, worship with Rev. Destiny Mancio, message/teaching time with guest speaker Dr. Jeff Stark) at the Chateau. Spanish interpretation is provided.
Note: Afternoons and evenings of this retreat are unscheduled on purpose. Use the time for what you need the most, whether that's a fun adventure, a quiet conversation, a scenic excursion or a nap.
GET TO KNOW THE SPEAKER
Jeff Stark became a Jesus follower at age 25 in Macedonia, deployed with the US Army. He served on staff at Clarksville First Church of the Nazarene, lead pastor of Erin Church of the Nazarene, TN, and at Bridgeway Community Church, Pekin, Il. In the summer of 2019, he moved to the heart of Chicago to serve as the Executive Director of Reach77 and Missional Director for the Chicago Central District Church of the Nazarene until August 2022. He now serves as the Leadership Development and Revitalization Catalyst for the Northwest Ohio District Church of the Nazarene. He is the founder and CEO of Build Your Story, a coaching and consulting company serving pastors, leaders, churches, and districts.
In addition, he serves as Director for Graduate Studies at Olivet Nazarene University. His focus is Missional Theology and the convergence of Christianity and Culture. He offers courses in Church Multiplication and Evangelism, Preaching, and Missional Leadership. He is the author of a book from The Foundry Publishing — The News Is Good: Evangelism as a Way of Life.
He is married for 27 years to Angie (currently an ONU student) and has two sons (Derek – ONU Alum ’22 and Chance – ONU Alum ‘23), an amazing daughter-in-law (Olivia – ONU Alum ’22). His joy is being with family and working their hobby farm in Northwest Ohio.

FAQ
- What is the dress code? This event is casual.
- Will parking at the hotel be a separate fee? Parking is free for overnight guests in our group. We will distribute a code near the time of the event start to enter in the parking machines.
- Will I need to place a credit card on file with the hotel? Yes. Your registration payment covers the basic cost of the room, but the hotel will require a credit card to have on file for you for any extra or incidental costs applied to your room.
- What do I need to plan for meals? The Monday night dinner and three morning breakfasts at the hotel breakfast buffet are covered in the cost of registration. (There are limited accommodations for dietary restrictions with the Chateau breakfast buffet. Please contact the district office at kcdistrict@kcdistrict.org if you have a severe food allergy.)
- Can I bring my kids? This event is not for children. However, special arrangements can be made for families that need them. Please contact the district office at kcdistrict@kcdistrict.org so we can work out a plan to cover the cost of children's meals.
- Can we support other ministers in managing the costs of retreat? Absolutely! Contact kcdistrict@kcdistrict.org about the types of retreat scholarships you would like to offer.
