Dr. Eddie Estep is District Superintendent of the Kansas City District. He served as District Superintendent of the South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene from 2006-2018, and prior to that he served as a pastor for 20 years in Ripley, WV; Maysville, KY; and Columbus (Shepherd), OH.
Eddie is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University (B. A.); Nazarene Theological Seminary (M. Div.); and Asbury Theological Seminary (D. Min.). He has served on the General Board, and on the Board of Trustees for Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Nazarene Bible College, Nazarene Theological Seminary, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Eddie enjoys developing leaders on the Kansas City District, across the USA/Canada Region, and globally. He is the author of Who’s Got Your Back? (Beacon Hill Press, 2014), Who’s By Your Side? (Beacon Hill Press, 2016), and What's in Your Hand? (The Foundry, 2020). He is married to Diane, whose passion and ministry focus is marriage and family enrichment. They have two sons: Josh, who is married to Kortney, and Jeff, who is married to Brittany, and two grandchildren: Ellie Kay and Emery Anne.
Wayne began serving as District Administrator in September 2019. His responsibilities include oversight of District Church Properties, logistics for District Assembly, assisting in pastoral transitions and serving as District Secretary. He has been in Christian ministry for 35 years pastoring in Overland Park, KS and Independence, MO. Wayne is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University (B.A. Religion) and Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.Div.).
Wayne has been married to his wife, Chris, for 35 years and they have three adult children who are all lovers of Jesus. He believes sarcasm is a spiritual gift, and the remote control and mint chip ice cream are two of God's best inventions.
Rev. Tabita Gonzalez is the Kansas City District Missionary with responsibilities in the areas of multicultural ministry and church planting. Tabita was born and raised in Brazil. She graduated with honors from the Brazilian Theological Seminary with an associate degree in Applied Theology (2005) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and a minor in Education from Campinas State University (2005). Tabita also earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from MNU in 2011.
In 2007 Tabita moved to Kansas with her husband, Rev. David Gonzalez, in order to support ministry delivery at the Global Ministry Center while also serving as youth pastor for Ministerios Hispanos Emanuel at College Church. In 2011, Tabita and her husband began to serve as co-pastors of the cross-cultural ministry at Lenexa Central where the couple restarted the Hispanic congregation. In 2014 Tabita was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene by the Kansas City District and shortly after that was deployed as a missionary to South America, serving in Argentina and Ecuador.
In the field, Tabita served for five years as the Regional Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator, providing leadership. There she facilitated several ministry programs and emphases including the establishment of new Child Development Centers, responses to major disasters, support to different community development projects, and educational efforts. During their time in Argentina, the couple also provided ministry support to a “restart” church, Pilar Centro, in the Buenos Aires area.
Upon their return to the USA, Tabita has served in Nazarene Compassionate Ministries for the past year, facilitating the creation and distribution of resources for Child Development Programs around the world. She has also been involved in local ministry at Lenexa Central, serving as a family and couples co-pastor for the Spanish congregation. David serves as Global NYI Director at the GMC.
Tabita is the proud mama of two bright and full-of-energy boys: Lucas (7) and Jeremias (4), with whom she claims to have the most profound theology and Christian life discussions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with family, trying different foods from different countries, crafting, and cultivating significant relationships. Her passions include teaching her children by example, fulfilling God’s call in her life to preach the Word, calling sinners to a relationship with Christ, preparing the saints for ministry, and caring for God’s flock.
Tabita is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and has basic proficiency in French. In August 2020 she will assume primary leadership of district multicultural ministries and church planting. Dr. Fernandez will continue to oversee district ministerial training for Spanish-speakers.
Nancy Firestone is Director of Connections for the Kansas City District. Nancy grew up in St. Charles, Missouri and attended MidAmerica Nazarene University. While at MidAmerica she met her husband, Brad, and has completed a degree in Management/Human Relations.
Nancy and Brad served as Nazarene missionaries in the Dominican Republic (Work & Witness Coordinators). Following that assignment, they served in the Caribbean regional office (now part of the Mesoamerica Region). They returned to Kansas City in 2001 and Nancy worked in the Global Ministry Center as the Work & Witness administrative assistant and executive assistant to the Mission Personnel Administrative Director.
In 2011, Nancy and Brad accepted assignments in the Eurasia regional office where Nancy served as the regional secretary and personnel coordinator. In the fall of 2016, Nancy began work in the General Secretary’s Office as support staff for General Assembly 2017. Most recently she has served as the records liaison, assisting the regions and many USA/Canada districts with the APR (Annual Pastor’s Report online), journal information, and developing resource guides for the role of the district secretary and the APR.
Nancy loves all things creative, whether painting, crafting, photography, baking, or thinking of new ways to do things. She and Brad enjoy traveling and the opportunities that brings to discover more about the unique qualities God places in culture and individuals. She also speaks some Spanish, so feel free to help her practice whenever you can.
The Firestones call Lenexa Central their church home, and Nancy is active in the music ministry and coordinates the annual Christmas Lights drive-through event. Nancy and Brad have two grown sons: Andy and his wife Sarah live in Beijing, China, where they work in a private international school, and Allen and his wife Diamond live in the Kansas City area.

Since 2018, Carlos has been serving as KCD Director of Spanish School of Ministry. He assists in integrating different language cultures on the KCD. Since 2017, he has served as the coordinator for SENDAS Pastoral Theological Bachelor program for the KCD.
In 2015, Carlos began his ministry as KCD Spanish Ministry coordinator, and Spanish School of Ministry director. Among his responsibilities is to assist in planting new congregations, training new Spanish pastors and leaders, and coordinating district theological Spanish education (CEM).
For 20 years, Carlos worked in different areas of ministries: field strategy coordinator in the Southern Cone, South America Region (1995-2003), Spain District Superintendent and Mission director (2003-2008); Leadership, Literature, Evangelism, Jesus Film Regional coordinator (2008-2015), and as professor in South America, Central America, and Spain. In 2015, He retired as a career missionary from the Global Church of the Nazarene.
In 2003, Carlos received his Doctorate degree in Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary. In 1992, he earned his Master in Ministry degree at Point Loma Nazarene University. In 1984, he earned his BA in Theology at Seminario Biblico in Pilar, Bs.As. Argentina. In 1970, Carlos was ordained as Elder of the Church of the Nazarene.
Prior to his missionary appointment, Carlos served as pastor in Buenos Aires for more than 20 years, and on the Southwest Latin America District in Phoenix and Peoria, Arizona, for over 7 years. He planted several churches during this time.
Carlos is married to Noemi Zani and have 3 children, Adriana, Karina and Carlos and 5 grandchildren.
Diane is the Special Projects Coordinator for the Kansas City District. She assists in the credentialing process, resumé profiles, and other misc. projects around the office and district. She also serves as the event coordinator for district superintendents’ spouses at the USA/Canada District Superintendents Leadership Program. Diane serves on the SDMI Women's Discipleship & Ministry council for the USA/Canada region. Passionate about marriages and families, she has led retreats and enrichment classes for several years and finds fulfillment when couples grow deeper in their relationship. She is also passionate about encouraging women in their faith.
Diane and Eddie have two sons: Josh (Kortney, along with daughter, Ellie), lives in Columbus, Ohio, and works as a Consultant of Process Management at Nationwide Insurance. Jeff (Brittany, along with daughter, Emery), lives in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where Jeff is a Comfort Advisor for Columbus Worthington Air.
Diane enjoys spending time with family, home décor, and entertaining.
Vicki Copp has been on the KCD Board of Ministry since 2005 and became chair in 2022. She has pastored the Cameron Church of the Nazarene since January 2018. She has also served in associate ministry positions in Midtown, MO, Overland Park, KS and San Diego, CA. She served on the Arizona District as Assistant to the Superintendent for Community and Equipping, and directed their School of Ministry.
Vicki has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, a Master's degree in Theology from Point Loma Nazarene University, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary where she served as Director of Supervised Ministry, and is presently a trustee.
Vicki and Dan Copp (deceased) were married for 44 years and have two adult daughters, Mackenzie Wood (Bob) of Cameron and Megan Albaugh (Ryan) of Mesa, AZ. She also has four adorable grandchildren with whom she loves to spend time.
Marisela Flores was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico. Marisela moved to the USA when she was 9 years old. She completed her associates in science at Donnelly College in 2017, a bachelor’s in organizational leadership in 2019, and currently working on her MBA at MNU. Marisela also graduated from CEM (Ministerial Studies) through the KCD Spanish School of Ministry in 2021.
She attends College Church in the Hispanic Ministry helping with worship arts (media) during services and as a Sunday School Director. She is also a recent member of the Church Board and a member of the Mercy Committee.
